Associate attributes between references

Introduction

In ParagonERP, you can link information from one set of data to another. The associations function can be used to link attributes between references. This article explains how to set that up.
 
 

Process description:

We use the term references for data sets such as vendors, products, customers, etc. By setting up attributes or fields of information within these reference tables, you can link common information from one reference table to another. Here, we'll walk you through the option of creating one-to-many associations in Paragon. In this example, we are using the product module.
 

 

Step-by-step instructions:

  • Step 1: Navigate to the product module

From any screen, navigate to the product module. 

 

Select a product. In this example, you can see that the initial purchase cost of the selected product is 650 CAD.

Click the associated tab to enter associations.

 

  • Step 2: Add associations

In this example, we'll make a one-to-many association link to tell the system to use a different purchase cost if a specific vendor is chosen and if a volume of 75 units is ordered.
 

Click the edit button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Now, click the add button on the left. A modal will pop up and you'll be prompted to enter a reference type and reference ID.

Here we are choosing a vendor. 

 

Click the next button. Now, you'll be prompted to enter your associations. Here, we're choosing the purchase cost.

Choose these attributes from the drop down menu, and enter the amounts in the blank fields.

Once you're done adding your associations, click the accept button. You will now be able to see your one-to-many association.

Click the save button once you're done.

Because of this association, when you create a purchase order for this vendor for this specific product, the purchase cost will automatically use the associated cost in the screen above.
