Here, we'll walk you through how to import journal entries. ### **Step-by-step instructions** - #### **Step 1:** **Create your excel sheet** Each journal entry requires a unique journal ID. ![](https://support.paragon-erp.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/DocsDisplay-Feb-02-2024-09-52-30-2818-PM-1-1-3-1.png) As you are manually importing journal entries, their **entry type** is required to be ***Manual***. Verify that under the column **entryType**, the validation is ***Manual*** for every journal entry that you are importing. ![](https://support.paragon-erp.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/DocsDisplay-Feb-02-2024-09-52-28-3472-PM-1-1-3-1.png) You may also only import ***Pending*** journal entries. Verify that the column **status** has only ***Pending*** entries. ![](https://support.paragon-erp.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/DocsDisplay-Feb-02-2024-09-52-25-4701-PM-1-1-3-1.png) - #### Step 2: Verify Open GL Periods Only open GL periods are accepted as valid. To find out if the period input is open, click the **settings** button in the top left ![](https://support.paragon-erp.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/DocsDisplay-Feb-02-2024-09-52-27-7275-PM-1-1-3-1.png)   Then click **GL Periods** under the **Financials** card. ![](https://support.paragon-erp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/GL%20periods%20settings-jpg.jpeg?width=670&height=301&name=GL%20periods%20settings-jpg.jpeg) Once on the **GL periods configuration** screen, you can see which periods have ***o****pen*** status. Then, click **import** under the **Reports & Data** card. ![](https://support.paragon-erp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Import%20from%20settings-jpg.jpeg?width=670&height=301&name=Import%20from%20settings-jpg.jpeg) A modal will appear in which you have to select the type of data you would like to import.
