Bulk Inventory Movement

Bulk Inventory Movement

Introduction

Bulk inventory movement allows you to select multiple items in large quantities and move them to the same or different locations simultaneously. Using this function allows you to filter through your inventory available in every location in each warehouse, as well as by item in each location.

Setup

Note that this function only works if pivot view is configured

Navigating to the module

From the more button anywhere in Paragon, select the functions module.

From there you can click on the bulk inventory movement tab on the top left to begin.

Bulk Inventory Movement screen

There are 3 main sections on this screen and each is labeled with a number to help guide you through the most efficient workflow for using this feature.

Section 1 - fill in required fields

Warehouse - from the dropdown menu, select the warehouse you want to move inventory from.

From Location - from the dropdown menu, select the specific location you want to move inventory from (from within the warehouse selected above).

Item - optionally, you can start typing to view a list of items that are in the location you selected above. This will filter the grid that will appear in section 3.

Section 2 - Select an automatic movement option

This section allows you to make automatic inventory adjustments based on the selections you make in section 1 and items you select in section 3.

Move all to 1 location - select a location option from the dropdown menu to be able to use the button.
Move by rule - this option will allow you to select any predetermined rules that you may have to calculate the number of units to be moved for the selected orders. For more information about rules, please contact us at support@paragon-erp.com
Clear movement grid - clicking this button will erase all inputs you made in section 3.

Section 3 - Make manual adjustments to the grid

Section 3 will list items available in the location you selected in section 1. If you selected an item in section 1, then the grid will only display the item selected.

Quantity to move - input a quantity for the amount of inventory you want to move for that product.
To location - select the location that the item should be moved to. The item name's color will change to green, orange or red based on how much of the current available stock is being moved.

Item's color meaning:
- Red means the quantity you selected is greater than your inventory for that product
- Yellow means less than inventory available (meaning you can add more if you want)
- Green means you selected all the inventory available.

Filtering

If you need a more advanced way to filter through the items listed in the grid, you can use the advanced filtering modal. To access it, click on the filter button on the top right corner of the grid in section 3.

Bulk Movement

Now that you have an understanding of each option within the bulk inventory movement feature, it's time to use it to move inventory from one location to another. Here's a step-by-step walkthrough of the process.

Manual Movements

First, select a warehouse. Secondly, select a location from within the warehouse from which you would like to move inventory.

Optionally, you can use the third field in section 1 to find a specific item variety (style/color) in that location. In this example, we won't be doing so.

The grid in section 3 is then automatically filled in with items. Input a quantity to move and a to location on each item's corresponding box.

Once you are done making your selections, click on the accept button on the bottom right corner of the screen. A modal will pop up confirming the number of items being moved, as well as an optional dropdown menu to select a reason for the inventory movements. Once confirmed, click on the accept button on the modal.

A success notification will appear in the top right corner giving you a final confirmation of the movement.

Automatic Movements

Similarly to manual movements, you will need to select a warehouse and a from location in section 1. Selecting an item is still optional.

Section 3 will be automatically filled with items in the selected location.

To select the items you want to move using the automatic movement options, select the checkbox to the left of each item. Once you are done selecting the items you want to move, select the location you want to move them to from the dropdown menu in section 2. To confirm the movement, click on the move all to 1 location button beside it.

Your grid will now be automatically filled in. If you are happy with the selections, click on the accept button in the bottom right corner to confirm your choices.

A modal will appear. Before clicking on the accept button on the modal, you can optionally select a reason for the movement.

A success notification will appear in the top right corner giving you a final confirmation of the movement.
