How to configure your boxing screen

Shipping goods to your clients is likely the central function of your business. Once ordered goods are ready for shipping, one possible warehouse workflow would be to pick and then pack those goods to prepare them for transport. In Paragon, there is a boxing function that can be used as instructions on how to box a particular shipment. This is done through the packing list function.

The boxing function can be accessed through the action button on the packing list screen.

There are various fields of information that may be required to prepare your boxes correctly. This article is going to explain how to set up these attributes (or fields of information).

Step 1: Set up your attributes

In order to put attributes on your boxes, these pieces of information need to be created as attributes first. Once you have your attributes set up, you can continue to step 2!

Step 2: Go to screen setup

From Paragon's home screen, hit the settings button.

Under the system card, select screen setup.

Step 3: Access boxing setup

Then, select the pack option in the list. Once on the pack setup screen, hit the edit button.

Then you'll see the option to edit box attributes. Hit that button and a new screen will appear.

Step 4: Adding attributes

On this screen, you'll be able to add the fields of information you set up in step 1. To add more fields, click the add new attribute button.

A new line will appear at the top of the screen. If you click into that field, a list of all available attributes you have set up will display in a list for you to choose from.

You can also apply a few conditions to the attributes you have set up in the boxing:

  1. Ordinal: Sequences the list of attributes you add
  2. Mandatory: You will not be able to save a box configuration without filling out this attribute
  3. Disallow multiple: You cannot fill in the attribute more than once for the same box
  4. Always show: Whenever you are creating a new box, this attribute will appear by default.

Once you have added all the attributes you want to appear on your boxes, click the accept button.

You can also cancel at any time by clicking the cancel button.

Step 5: Save and logout

Once you are done adding the attributes to the box setup, click the save button.

Step 6: Edit box attributes in pack

When you log back into Paragon you'll see the attributes you just configured on your boxing screen. To edit your box attributes first click box after issuing your pack.

This will bring you to the box module. From here you can hit the edit button which will open up the box attributes modal where you can add your new attributes!
