How to use the action button

Introduction

Action buttons are used throughout Paragon. They always appear on the bottom right corner of the screen. This button allows you to perform a variety of actions including but not limited to changing the status of your references and transactions, printing, copying, emailing and configuring your add ons. In this article, we will cover the default action, optional list actions, and the actions available to you depending on the type of module you are working in.

Default action

Depending on the status of your reference, transaction, or add-on screen, Paragon will display a default action on the action button.
The default action will be specified on the action button itself. Hitting the default action will trigger the specified action on your transaction, reference, or add-on configuration.

Below are some examples of the default action on the action button categorized by status:

Workflow Configuration

If you've looked at all of our default action buttons and need to change things up to suit your needs; be our guest! You have the option to configure your default action buttons by using our workflow configuration.
To get started, navigate to your settings screen and click Workflow Configuration under the System card.

Once you are on the workflow configuration page you will be able to see all of the modules that you have access to laid out in a table with the module name, starting status, and default action. By editing and then clicking the default action for a specific module, you can choose your desired action from a drop-down (depending on how many actions are available.)

If you want to add more action buttons, including custom actions such as rules or PGA templates, then take a look at our article on how to Add more options to the action button
