How to use the grouping grid modal | ParagonERP

Using the add item modal

Paragon ERPs grouping grid is an integral part of how users interact with Paragon. You will find it in multiple places in Paragon - one of which is whenever you add an item. Its purpose is to help you group products based on certain criteria or attributes.

How it works

In Paragon, any time you are creating or modifying a transaction you will find the new item modal by hitting the add a new line item button.

Doing this will open a modal where you will see all the products you have in Paragon.

From here we have multiple ways to find the products we need for the transaction being made.

Grouping by column

By rolling over the column headers for item name and description in the grid, a hamburger icon will be revealed. By hitting the hamburger in the column header you will get a drop-down giving you the option to group items by that column.

When you choose to do this, your grid will change accordingly to display items by the grouping of your choice, with the group name displaying above the items. You can narrow your search further by grouping with multiple columns. To view the detailed information for each line, simply click the arrow to display the drop down information.

You can remove a grouping by hitting the cancel buttonThe grouping option is currently available by item name, and description.

Changing  columns in the grid

When you first open the item modal you may notice that there is a section on the right side called columns.  You can click that section to expand it to select which of the default columns you want to see in your grid.  All column options are derived from attributes in your reference screens.  Any changes made to the columns will be saved by user.  This means that the next time you log into Paragon, the settings made last visit will be saved.

Selecting by grouped items

Once you've chosen what to group by, you can then select entire groupings with a single click by checking the group checkbox.

Or you have the option to choose items within the group individually.

Searching and filtering by warehouse
In the top right-hand corner of the grid you will see the options to search and filter by warehouse. This will help you to narrow down your search criteria and efficiently find what you need by knowing how much stock is available in each of your warehouse locations.

Sorting

On the first column in the grouping grid, ID, you will see a small arrow. This arrow represents how that column's information is being displayed to you. By hitting the arrow you can reorganize the display. There are two possible orientations to pick from.

Ascending alphabetically

Descending alphabetically

Multi-sorting

Paragon allows you to sort multiple columns simultaneously. To do so, click and hold the shift button on your keyboard while selecting the columns you want to sort. Each column will be sorted alphabetically as you select them.

To clear the multi-sort columns you selected, release the shift button on your keyboard and click another column header.

Multi-selecting

Another way to make it easier for you while you add products to your transaction is through the use of the shift key.

1. While in the modal, hold down the shift key.
2. Choose an item by clicking the check box of that line.

3. While still holding the shift key, choose another product down the list and you will instantly select all of the items in between the two.

4. You can always clear all your selected items by hitting the clear selections button at the bottom of the modal:
