Here, we'll walk you through how to view and use the balance sheet report in Paragon.
A balance sheet is a statement of your business' financial position which states the assets, liabilities and owners' equity at a given point in time. To put it simply, a balance sheet illustrates your business' net worth.
The balance sheet is considered the most important of the three main financial statements used to illustrate the financial health of a business.
First, hit the more button, then the reporting button.
Next, on the left-hand side, select balance sheet to pull up the filter options for that report.
Like most reports in ParagonERP, you can make selections or filters to further refine your output. You can choose which year(s) and/or GL period(s) you want to display the balance sheet report for. Click the date checkbox next to your desired year(s) / period(s), and then hit the print report button at the top right-hand side of the screen. You can also decide if you would like to include or exclude journal entries that are in pending status by clicking on the checkbox at the left hand side of the selection screen. The resulting report is previewed at the bottom of the screen.
Now, once you hit the print report button, a popup will appear notifying you that Paragon is trying to open a new window (you will see this if you have an ad blocker turned on). Hit press here in the popup, and the report will automatically open in a new window.
Finally, you can view the balance sheet report according to the year(s) / period(s) you selected.
You can also export the balance sheet to Excel instead of printing it to a printer or previewing it on the screen. Instead of clicking the print button, click the export option in the middle of the screen.
Now that you can filter, print, preview and/or export the balance sheet - you may want to take a look at our other financial reports offered in ParagonERP!
