How to view/hide inactive GL accounts in Paragon

When you first get started with ParagonERP, you are provided with default general ledger accounts (assets, liabilities, equity, expenses and so on). These accounts are all activated, ready to use, and may be modified to suit the specific accounts of your company (i.e. you can change the name and codes of accounts). It’s also important to note that once an account is created it cannot be deleted, but it can be deactivated

Given that there may be accounts that you do not wish to use, we’ve made life easy by allowing you to simply deactivate an account so that there’s no risk of it showing up in your journal entries.

Here we’ll show you how to hide deactivated GL accounts in your GL chart of accounts list view so that you don't have to see them - out of sight, out of mind.

Step 1: Deactivate your account

Over time, some of your GL accounts may become obsolete, and you may not want to see them in your list of accounts. ParagonERP makes it easy to deactivate accounts rendering them unusable in the system.

Step 2: Hide/show inactive accounts

Once you've finished deactivating your accounts, you can choose to hide or show them by hitting the show inactive toggle button at the top right hand side of screen.

When the toggle is blue, it means the deactivated accounts are showing in your list view.
When the toggle is grey, it means the deactivated accounts are not showing in your list view.

Now what?

Now that your deactivated accounts are not visible in your list view, and they not available to be chosen for any GL mapping, you can proceed with confidence that no transactions will be booked to any inactive account.

You can always export your GL chart of accounts to view which ones are active and inactive all in one excel spreadsheet.
