Rule - Automatically fill email address

You might want to save time and reduce the chance of mistakes when entering multiple email addresses every time you want to send transactions to your customers/vendors. Maybe you want to pull the email information from that customer/vendor module automatically or even from your current transaction, depending on your company's business logic.

This type of automation can be arranged with the setup of a system rule. Please contact us at support@paragon-erp.com for help with setting up rules.

Step 1: Set up attributes

Depending on your company's business logic, attributes can be set up in appropriate modules and information can be pulled from those attributes. Here's an example to understand what can be done with the rule.

Let's assume that you want a rule to populate the to address attribute in the email modal for the order module based on the customer, by getting value from the email attribute from customer module.

Fill the email address in To attribute here

Step 2: Install and activate the rule

All rules are activated and maintained from the rules card in the settings screen.

This rule needs to be installed on a special trigger named on_open_email.

Step 3: Seeing the rule in action

Once your rule has been installed, when you decide to create the email you will see the to attribute filled automatically based on the above business logic.

Likewise, you may also want the rule to populate the other attributes in the email modal, such as cc, subject and message. These settings can be different for different transaction modules.

What now?

So now that you have installed and activated your rule, you can always deactivate it if you need to. If you have any other questions about rules, don't forget that you can contact us at support@paragon-erp.com.
