Sales and purchase journal WIGO reports

Sales and purchase journal WIGO reports

Introduction

WIGO gives you a breakdown of all your sales and expenses in the form of detailed and summarized reports for each module. However, you also have the option to collect this information and condense the important details into one report. This article will give you an overview of the sales and purchase journal reports, which both have a summary and detailed version.

Sales journal summary

The sales journal summary report can be found in the reports module under the sales card.

The report presents 4 transaction types; orders, invoices, RMAs, and credits. Orders and invoices have positive values, whereas RMAs and credits have negative values.
The default layout contains grouping by currency > company name with the following filters:

  • company types: customer
  • currency: all of them except blank
  • transaction types: invoice, credit

You can expand any currency you wish to inspect more closely, and you will see a list of customers. From here you will be able to expand even further to view the transactions for that customer.

  • Sales journal detail report

The sales journal detail report can be found in the reports module under the sales card.

The devil is in the details and when you’re trying to figure out what’s happening with your sales and the answers are sometimes found at the finest level (i.e. the product lines and their attributes). For example, figuring out if a product is mostly purchased alone or with another product can be a very specific, yet common question. The sales journal detail report allows you to answer these types of questions by filtering and sorting line items on orders, invoices, RMAs, and credits.

    Purchase Journal Summary

The purchase journal summary report can be found in the reports module under the purchasing card.

Similar to the sales journal, this report presents 3 transaction types; purchase orders, vendor invoices, and vendor credits. Purchase order and vendor invoice have positive values, whereas vendor credit has negative values. The default layout contains grouping by currency > company name with the following filters:
    1. Company fields/ type: only vendor
    2. Currency: blanks filtered out
    3. Type: only purchase orders
    4. Type column should contain one of 3 values: purchase order, vendor credit, or vendor invoice

    Purchase journal detail report

The purchase journal detail report can be found in the reports module under the purchasing card.

This report allows you to delve deeper into your purchase journal, filtering and sorting line items on purchase orders, vendor invoices, and vendor credits.
