What's new with Paragon - April 4, 2017

New features and bug fixes every two weeks. Come back here to check out what's new.

Here's what we've been working on to make ParagonERP work better for you.

Additional transactions added to the activity panel

Did you know that you can access transactions associated to a product within the product module itself? This is called the activity panel and can also be found in the customer and vendor modules. With this update, we've added more transactions to the activity panel, so you can have a clearer picture of your customers, vendors and products.

Customer credits, vendor invoices and vendor credits were added to the product module.

Customer payments made, vendor invoices and vendor credits were added to the vendor module.

Customer credits and payments received were added to the customer module.

Rules that activate when creating one transaction from another

Rules in Paragon can be triggered after a transaction has been saved, completed, put on hold, issued, or voided.  We've now added the option to create rules that are activated when creating one transaction from another. This adds more flexibility in how you can customize your Paragon system.

Link third-party companies to transactions

You can now classify companies on transactions as a factor, broker, drop shipment location, third party warehouse location, contractor, bank, or trustee. This allows you to link associated companies to each other and the transaction you're creating. If you'd like, you can also add more types of related companies.

Introducing multi-carrier shipping

Paragon is integrated with a new shipping platform that allows you to connect with four new carriers - FedEx, UPS, Canada Post and DHL. No need for lengthy, complex setups - now, you can ship with any of these four carriers at the click of a button!

Automatically create a transaction from multiple sources

You can create transactions from multiple sources in Paragon already. However, creating a payment off a handful of invoices by manually checking them off can be time-consuming. For this reason, we've developed the functionality that allows a rule to do this for you.

Bugs

Here's a list of pesky bugs we squashed with this update:

  • There was a bug causing attribute values to be saved incorrectly at times. This has been fixed.
  • In order to adjust inventory, you must select the location where the adjustment will be made. There was a bug that stopped you from choosing a location when making inventory adjustments, which has been fixed.
  • You can now select cost of sales and expenses when linking your GL's.
  • When changing prices or item quantities on transactions, the totals would not calculate correctly under certain circumstances. We've added a validation that recalculates the values every time you save a transaction, which catches any changes that were made to the transaction lines.
  • Reports, the copy function and the business terms on a transaction can now be used in test mode.
  • The message you get in Paragon when entering incorrect credentials is now in a readable format.
  • When a notification is triggered after auto-generating a transaction, a screen pops down with a message. This message is now worded and formatted correctly.
