New features and bug fixes every two weeks. Come back here to check out what's new.
Attributes are custom fields of information that are used to describe absolutely everything in Paragon. For example, you can use the attribute 'customer class' to categorize your customers.
A few updates ago we gave you the ability to connect two attributes with each other. This allows you to control things like what class of customers get which discounts and allowances.
With this update, we've given you the ability to use the universal translator to import and export these attribute relationships, making it simpler and easier to implement.
It is possible that you buy and sell your products in different units of measure. For example, you can buy in crates or cartons and sell in individual units. The challenge with this occurs when you need to inventory these products. Do you inventory the crate? Do you inventory the units? Do you inventory both?
We have completed the first step of a feature that will allow you to decide how to inventory these types of products. Right now there is a list of standard units of measure inside Paragon that will eventually be used to calculate conversions at the time of receiving and shipping inventory.
You can create and receive refundsIn Paragon, you can receive payments and make payments. Normally, you create a payment for a vendor and receive a payment from a customer.
Sometimes, instead of crediting an account, you may need to refund money to customers or receive refunds from your vendors. For this reason, we added the ability to 'receive a payment' from a vendor and 'create a payment' for a customer.
Create an invoice directly from an eventIn Paragon, an event allows you to track the time spent on a service call as well as the items or tools used during this time. Now you can create invoices directly off of these service orders, which allows you to invoice the customer for the products that were used.
Be notified about what GL link is missing when issuing a transactionThere are many transactions in Paragon that actually write automatic journal entries to specific accounts in the GL. In order for Paragon do to this, you need to set up GL links. If for some reason these links aren't set up correctly, Paragon won't be able to automatically write to the correct GL account. When this happens, a notification now appears telling you where everything has gone wrong. With this, you can correct the GL link and then issue the transaction.
BugsHere's a list of pesky bugs we squashed with this update:
- Corrected functionality in the rules engine that allows your rule to search and collect values from multiple areas in Paragon
- Tax amounts are now updated correctly when you delete a line item from a transaction in issued status. You can no longer create a negative 'receive payment'
- Addresses with special characters are no longer accepted when entered or uploaded.
- You can now successfully reset your password from the login page.
- You can no longer duplicate your company address by importing through the universal translator.
