What's new with Paragon - November 16, 2016

New features and bug fixes every two weeks. Come back here to check out what's new.

Here's what we've been working on to make ParagonERP work better for you.

Features and Improvements

We have added two new reports to the finance section of Paragon's reporting module: a balance sheet and a trial balance report. These reports are crucial when compiling month-end, quarter-end or year-end financial statements.

After you create a make payment in Paragon, you can now print a check directly from the payment. In the make payment module, if you click the green action button, the option to print check will appear. You can also print a batch of cheques in the print checks report under the payables section.

Bugs

From the green action button on any item, you will see a copy button. This allows you to copy the item and then vary a few of its characteristics. This is much faster than creating a whole new product manually, especially if only a few characteristics need to be varied (for example, color). There was a bug that was preventing the unique ID from being copied over onto the new product being created. This has been corrected. Now, when you use the copy function and choose not to change the unique ID, the new product is named as ID_copy_2.

Did you know that you can control user access to different areas of Paragon? This is done through the security module. In the security module there was a bug that didn't allow you to control user access to certain transaction statuses. Without this ability, any user would be able to put transactions into any status (temp, hold, issue, complete, void).

Rules

We created a rule that does not let your inventory go negative. This rule checks the inventory of a product when you try to issue a shipment. If the shipment will cause inventory to become negative, you'll receive a notification.

We created a rule that does not allow you to issue a pick ticket without inventory available. If you try to issue the pick ticket, you will receive a notification explaining that there is not enough inventory available.
