What's new with Paragon - November 9, 2021

New features and bug fixes every two weeks. Come back here to check out what's new.

Update the product BOM unit costs with the material's inventory value

As you probably know, Paragon allows you to track estimates and actual bill of materials usage and costs. Another powerful feature in Paragon is automatic inventory valuation for finished products and materials. Now you can gain even more control by using the weighted average cost of materials as the unit cost in your product BOMs. Using the inventory value of the BOM components instead of the standard purchase cost gives a more accurate estimate for the finished product.

Only BOM estimates are impacted, meaning that any manufacturing already in progress will not be changed if the inventory value of a component changes.

If you want to utilize this functionality, contact support@paragon-erp.com or your Paragon Implementation Partner for assistance with setup.

Import and export your tax setup

Paragon supports automatic sales tax calculation for location, item, or company-based taxes. The calculations are all based on tax setup, which is done when you start using the system or when taxes change. Instead of making changes or adding setup manually, you can now easily import them automatically using the import/export tool. All tax validations that exist when entering new rates manually also apply when importing them.

If you want to add a new line to the tax setup instead of updating an existing line, leave the line number blank for that row.

Create invoices from packs

Depending on your business workflow, you might invoice before you ship. Also, you might get large orders that you prepare and send out in parts. If this is the case, you can now progressively pack orders and generate invoices prior to shipping
