Creating units of measure (UOM)

Learn how to create and edit Unit of Measure (UOM) types in Paragon's attribute setup for accurate inventory tracking.

If you purchase products in one quantity (e.g., a box of 12) and sell them in another (e.g., individual pieces), you can use Paragon's conversion tools. To do this, you must first define the various units of measure (UOM) used within your business.

Accessing Attribute Setup

Paragon comes with several standard units, but you can edit these or add your own to match your specific product requirements.

  1. Navigate to settings > attributes > attribute setup.

Configuring Unit of Measure types

To manage the available units:

  1. Search for Unit in the search bar.

  2. Select Unit of Measure type and click the edit button.

  3. Click next twice to proceed through the configuration screens to the values section.

Adding new units

  1. Click the plus icon (+) to create a new unit of measure (e.g., "Box", "Pallet", or "Liter").

  2. After adding the necessary units, click next twice more to review.

  3. Click save changes to finalize the new list.

Next Step: Once your units are created, you must define how they relate to one another (e.g., how many pieces are in one box). See our guide on Creating Unit of Measure conversions for details.
