What's new with Paragon - April 26, 2022

New features and bug fixes every two weeks. Come back here to check out what's new.

Bulk reservation function

Hot new feature alert! Paragon now has a simple and powerful way to make reservations for multiple orders of a specific pivoted item. Reservations are a great way to ensure that you have set aside enough stock for your current orders and that you don't sell more than you have available.

The new bulk reservation screen can be found in our new functions module. After selecting a warehouse and pivoted item, the main grid will show a list of outstanding orders for that item that have not yet been reserved. A secondary grid on the bottom will also be filled with how much stock you have available to sell for each size.

If needed, you can filter the orders in the list by any attribute that's been configured on the order module list view. For example, this can be used to make allocations for your highest priority orders and most loyal customers first.

Once you've selected the orders you want to reserve stock for, you can either select one of the automatic options and have Paragon fill in the reservation quantities or manually fill out the quantities in the grid to your specifications.

As the grid is filled in, you will see that the 'to be reserved' and 'remaining' quantities in the bottom grid are updated to show you how much stock can still be reserved. Any fully or partially reserved orders will be highlighted in green and yellow, respectively. If a particular size or order is overallocated, the quantity in the grid will be highlighted in red to warn you.

After clicking the button to submit and review, a modal will prompt you to select the transaction date for your new reservation. Once it's created and issued, you can either carry on making more reservations for different items, or navigate to the reservation that was made.

Pivots must be configured in order for you to use this feature.

Export aged AR and AP reports to Excel

Excel is a great tool for manipulating and performing calculations on your reports to gain valuable insights into your business. You now have the option to export the aged AR and AP reports to Excel, making it easy to estimate your allowance for bad debts and maintain positive relationships with your customers and vendors.

Configure which GL accounts can be posted to as non-trade items

Non-trade items are essential for creating bills or payments for expenses or earnings unrelated to a particular product or service. However, some accounts are confidential and should not be directly posted to from a transaction. Each GL account now has an 'accessible as a non-trade item' attribute that determines whether the account will show up in the list of non-trade items. This attribute can also be set when first importing your chart from Excel.

Manually export shipments to Shopify

With our Shopify integration, you can use shipments that were created in Paragon to automatically mark the Shopify order as fulfilled. Now, you can use the manual export to Shopify action button to resend a shipment if something went wrong the first time.

Bugs

Here's a list of bugs we've eliminated with this update:
  1. The currency of an item's purchase cost will now be automatically filled whenever it is recalculated from a change in its bill of materials.
  2. If a pack is re-opened after a shipment is voided, the stock will be moved back to the default packing location as expected.
  3. Credits on the payment detail reports are now shown as a negative amount.
  4. Box lines without a quantity are now removed when closing the box.
