Track shipment in transit costing on each individual receipt and shipment

Introduction

The actual cost of a shipment or a receipt is calculated based on several invoices from various vendors. There are the invoices for goods you purchased and received, and there are invoices for charges that were incurred during the delivery of those goods. These transit charge invoices are often received long after the shipment or receipt itself has been completed. Here, we'll walk you through how to track shipment in transit costing on each individual receipt and shipment.

Create or update your receipt

The receive module is based on Paragon's standard transaction screen. If you are not familiar with the format of transaction screens, get yourself oriented on transaction screens here.

You can open the receive module in two ways. By clicking the receive button in the right-hand navigation bar or through the more menu.

You can select an existing receipt from the list view of the receipt module.

Or create a new receipt, by clicking the add new receipt button.

Enter shipment in transit costs on the receipt

The SIT (Shipment in Transit) costs can be applied to the receipt and shipment.

First, click the edit button at the top right-hand side of the screen.

To access transit costs, click on the transit costs button at the bottom right corner of your selected receipt.

The following modal will automatically appear. If you have already set up some attributes in screen setup, they will be displayed.

Click on the add button on the top left-hand side of the modal to get a list of cost breakdowns that you'd like to add.

You can add as many attributes as you want. Fill the values in then click the accept button.

Save your changes

Save any changes to your transit costs by hitting the save button at the bottom right of the screen.
